The Inaugural IFTA Gala Television Awards 2015

The red carpet was rolled out again last night, the 22nd October, for The Inaugural IFTA Gala TV awards. The who’s who of Irish television made an appearance to celebrate another fantastic year of Irish television.

Ronan and Storm Keating, Vogue Williams, Rosanna Davison and Nadia Forde were just some of the famous faces who attended to celebrate contested categories that included entertainment, comedy, soap and performance to factual, current affairs and news across all the Irish broadcasters.

The night belonged to Brendan O’Carroll, he lit up the red carpet with his animated personality, and he received the Lifetime Achievement award for Comedy by Gay Byrne.

The Mrs Brown's Boys star was accompanied by his wife Jenny, his son Danny, best friend Rory Cowan and a number of other cast members for his big night.

The host for the night, Amanda Byram, turned up on the red carpet in an exquisite Elizabeth Stuart bridal two-piece, followed by a further two outfit changes for the award ceremony.

'Red Rock' was the lead winner at ceremony, as the TV3 soap picked up three gongs.

The show collected awards for 'Soap or continuing drama', 'Director soap/comedy' for director Lisa Mulcahy and 'The People's Choice Award'.

This year marked the first IFTA award ceremony where there was separate ceremonies for film and television. IFTA CEO Aine Moriarty explained the reason for this was due to the massive growth in the film and television sector.
