With autumn well underway, the streets are lined with amber toned leaves, and shops and restaurants and filled with hearty laughs from wrapped-up, cosy customers. The annual November tasting series continues this season at The Merrion Hotel, which is a treat that surpasses all expectations.

Set against to the backdrop of the warm intimate surroundings of the hotel’s No.23 bar, the bespoke tasting evenings will focus on a different drink each evening including Cognac and Port. Each tasting will be accompanied by perfectly paired canapés, created by the hotel's Executive Head Chef Ed Cooney.

Cognac devotees will have their chance to explore the brandy world on the evening of Monday, 16th November. Jean Michel Cochet, the Ambassador de la Maison Hennessy will be on hand to share his knowledge of the Hennessy legacy and serve up delights of both neat drinks that include Hennessy Fine De Cognac and cocktails which involve the Fine De Cognac and a unique Elderflower essence specially prepared by the Hennessy Mixologist, Alan Kavanagh.

On Monday, 23rd November, port adherents will learn from Peter Dunne, the Director of Mitchell & Son Wine Merchants. Mr Dunne will showcase the famous Barao de Vilar Vintage 1999, Graham’s 20 year old Tawny and the elusive Cockburn’s Vintage 1963.

Spend your evening sipping on a delightful winter warmer in one of Dublin’s most prestigious hotels. Don’t forget to book early to avoid disappointment, tickets for the event are just €35 and spaces are very limited.
